• new year ready

Over the holiday break I made an effort to get a jump start on my new year goals so they weren’t something I just implemented on the 1st, but something I was already doing so the transition would stick. Here are the top goals I wanted to achieve: Wake up earlier to see sunrises I am not a morning person and I never have woken up just to see a sunrise so I tried really hard to do this over break and achieved it four times! This isn’t something I plan on doing all the time lol, but I wanted to prove to myself that I could and let me…

  • Holistic Cures for Skin Issues.

I have been susceptible to skin issues from a young age. When I was in 4th grade I had this weird peeling and itchy rash between my fingers they never figured out. Back then (because I was 9) I never thought about how I could heal myself from the inside or how my issues could be caused from what I was putting in or on my body. We were raised pretty healthy, even vegetarian up until that year, my mom rarely let us have junk food, but I was going through a very stressful time in my life. My parents had just gotten divorced, my mom had moved us to Florida from…

  • What I Eat.

I get asked a lot what I eat on a daily basis and for some reason people tend to think eating “clean” or plant-based is boring. Well I am here to tell you it is not. The key is to eat as close to nature as possible so you can benefit from the nutrients and vitamins straight from the source. If you are eating plant based you shouldn’t be eating: animal products, anything with animal products in them (check yo labels), processed foods or foods with added sugars (but fruit sugar is ok). Try to stay away from high-fat foods (all animal products and even too much avocado and seeds) and oils as…

  • Staying Fit in BALI.

Traveling for almost a month in Bali I was worried how I would eat healthy and stay in shape. Especially since we were moving around and island hopping, never staying in one place more than a few days. Turns out I had nothing to worry about because eating healthy in Bali is super easy, you just have to make the right decisions and even when you make the wrong ones, their portions are MUCH smaller than ours so they don’t affect you nearly as much. You are also walking in the heat a lot sweating so when you do eat something bad I feel like you negate it with all your activity.…

  • Take Me To: BALI

I am so excited to share my trip to BALI with you guys. It was amazing, to say the least, mainly because WE ELOPED!! Dress by Elouisecouture Ubud: After landing in Denpasar, we headed to Svarga Loka Resort in Ubud first because wanted our wedding to be at the start of the trip and in the rainforest near a river. (I will do a separate post on planning for a destination elopement.) It was magical and the staff at Svarga Loka went above and beyond to make it a memorable wedding for just the two of us. I’ve gotten a lot of requests on my wedding dress (separate post will come for this as well)…

  • Lemon Ginger Coconut Bites Recipe.

This weekend I created a bunch of healthy desserts with my boyfriend’s mom and my absolute favorite of the bunch was these Lemon Ginger Chocolate Bites. The batter alone tastes like lemon meringue pie filling. Originally the recipe was for “bars” with no chocolate but we decided that turning them into balls and putting vegan dark chocolate on them made them much more fun. This was my first time using a food processor and it was amazing, going to have to splurge for one myself. The best thing about this recipe is that it is completely clean and raw so you can eat like 50 of them and not feel…

  • Raw Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

Who doesn’t love raw chocolate chip cookie dough? No one. Ever. But with a traditional cookie dough mixture you are eating raw eggs and other crap you can’t pronounce like oils and additives. So in an effort to recreate this amazing treat with a MUCH healthier twist, I created a simple recipe that tastes very similar to the real thing by using just a few natural ingredients plus dairy free chocolate chips. Ingredients: {One serving} 2/3 cup raw cashews 1/3 cup oats 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup 1 tsp Organic Vanilla Extract 1/4 cup Dairy Free Chocolate Chips (I like the Enjoy life ones) Directions: + Blend cashews and…

  • Clean Eating Diary.

After a week of indulging, I felt like I needed to get back on track this week with some serious clean eating. Here is a peek into my weekly clean eating diary. I don’t always give measurements on fruit and veggies because I just eat enough of them until I am full so when I say blueberries or watermelon as a snack I might have eaten like 1/2 a watermelon depending how hungry I am. I remember when I was growing up, I used to think my Dad was so weird when he would eat 1/2 of a huge watermelon in one sitting and – look at me now. Oh how ironic life…
