The latest kick we have been on is drinking Golden Turmeric Milk. If you haven’t heard about it turmeric milk has been used for centuries to fights colds, congestion, arthritis, skin health issues, headache and sore throats. Recent studies have confirmed that it may be as effective as 14 different prescription drugs without the adverse side effects. Long story short – turmeric is the shit. Not only is it a depression-fighter, it also helps with digestion and IBS. It also has strong anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties, making it a promising complementary therapy for cancer-prevention. The more I read about it the more I saw how people have been incorporating turmeric in their everyday diets (add to your smoothies & teas) to help with inflammation, excema and so much more.

// Ingredients //
2 cups of milk or homemade coconut milk
1 teaspoon fresh Turmeric
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup or to taste
Pinch of black pepper*
Tiny piece of fresh, peeled ginger root or ¼ tsp ginger powder
Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
*Black pepper enhances the absorption and the anti-inflammatory effects of turmeric.
Here’s How You Make It // Blend the ingredients together and then heat them up or we just mixed everything over a medium heat until hot and then served. DO NOT LET IT BOIL. Drink this before bedtime as it can make you sleepy.
