Wow it has been a hot minute since I blogged. We have been trying to focus on decorating room by room instead of getting sidetracked by buying pieces for everything with no purpose. First we tackled the master bathroom, where we added a jute rug, towel ladder (similar) and teak stool by the tub to place bath products on. I found this teak stool at Home Goods ($40) after months of looking for the perfect one and did a dance in the aisles when I found it. I love that feeling. Our glass was installed in our showers and we did a large mirror for the master bathroom trying to evoke that hotel feel.

In the living room we have added a coffee table, leather butterfly chair and pouf which I also randomly found at Home Goods and freaked out over ($40). Our latest purchase was two CB2 wall mounted floating cabinets to use for under the TV to hide cords and store things. Our house doesn’t have much storage so this provides a nice solution. We realized once we put them together we could easily fit three on the wall and centered one beneath the TV, so we are waiting for the third one to arrive. I love how sleek they are and that they float so I can easily clean beneath them. It took us months to decide what we wanted, alternating between a buffet/sideboard possibly, but ultimately we knew it needed to be white and not too deep because our space isn’t large and we didn’t want to make it seem cramped. The hubs also got a really cool zebra plant for the coffee table that opens and closes its leaves when it is cold in the house. Kinda creepy…

Next up is tiling our backsplash in the kitchen, the tile is ordered and we are waiting on the tile guys to have time on their hands. Here is the (shocking – it’s white) backsplash tile we will be putting up. We thought about doing something dark but I didn’t want the kitchen to look like a cave.
Our patio coral rock has also been sitting in our driveway for weeks now and we are hoping that can install it at the start of February so one more week. Once the stone is installed we will need to pick out some patio chaises to lounge on which is at the top of our list along with more gardening. The living room is almost complete, which means we get to finish up the master bedroom next. When they say decorating is hard they mean it. Let me know if you have any questions on any of the products. xx
