I Tried the Plantable Meal Delivery Service

September 13, 2019

Hey babes! I have been trying Plantable this week – a plantbased meal delivery service based in NY – and wanted to share my thoughts on it with you in case you are interested in transitioning over to eating plantbased and don’t know what to make or are looking for the convenience of ready made meals delivered to your doorstep.

I was open to trying out Plantable because the founder’s story really resonated with me – she lost her mother to cancer and had many loved ones experiencing health issues and while researching for them found out the amazing healing properties of a plantbased diet. If you have followed me for awhile you know that my own plantbased journey was inspired by my mom and her health struggles. Speaking to my soul.

I also LOVE that they use real, whole foods, no weird ingredients or fake cheeses, etc. Their meals are also organic and local, non GMO, whole grains (no refined grains), no added sugars and all plantbased baby. I love that you can pronounce all the ingredients and they consist of natural, whole foods which is how I prefer to eat.

Plantable offers two programs with the aim to retrain your brain on the way you think about food. I tried the “Quickstart” program which is 6 lunches and 6 dinners, you thaw them out before eating them and most can be warmed in the oven, stove or microwave (I don’t have a microwave at home so I just put them into a pot on the stove). You also get one on one support from a personal coach (you can text them) and daily emails with content to inspire you during your program period.

My Thoughts // The meals are all tasty and filling, my husband also had a few of them and enjoyed them as well. They had a few soups which I love and a few of the meals were veganized cheesy meals (like au gratin, mac & cheese, etc) which are all things I enjoy as cheese is one of the hardest things for me to give up.

You do have to also add a salad to the lunches as just a bowl of soup is not enough food for me personally and then I would have my standard green smoothies in the morning as well each day, so you do need to supplement your own groceries as well. I found myself snacking less while trying it out as I was pretty full from lunch and dinner though so that was nice.

It was also really lovely to have meals ready to go that just needed to be heated up but arent gross microwaveable things. I don’t love cooking after a long day at work so the convenience factor is huge. Overall I would say that Plantable is a great option if you can afford it and are either transitioning to plantbased and aren’t sure what to make or have a busy life and want clean plantbased meals delivered to your house.
